Employers: Taking the Plunge

How do you decide you’re ready to hire a new employee?

If you’re a small business or just starting out, it can be hard to take that step into hiring a new full time staff member. At what point are you sure that you will have the workload to keep them busy enough to justify the expense? Even if you hire a part time team member, will you be able to provide them with enough hours to keep them from leaving for another job? What if you invest the capital to hire the individual and they aren’t a good fit? It can be very stressful for an employer to decide to take the leap.

Believe it or not, this is a dilemma that all businesses face, regardless of their size or success. But there is a way to avoid all of those possible negative outcomes. We at Freelancers Unlimited offer a level of service called “Temp to Perm”. It’s kind of like a try-before-you-buy scenario. If you know you have a high volume of work right now, you can have a pre-screened individual start immediately, even if there’s no guarantee that the work will continue. Even for this type of work, we can provide you with several candidates that fit within your specifications, and you can interview them in advance. Still, if you find that after working with them for a while, they are just not the right fit for your company, no problem. You can have another candidate start instead.

If the heavy workload continues, and you have decided that this is the person you would like to have do the job, we can transition that temp worker into your full time employee, negotiating your offer of employment with the candidate on your behalf.

So if you’re considering hiring a new employee but worried about taking the plunge, consider us. We can help.
